CNC Setter/Operator (168/01)

Pay rate:   £14.75 per hour

Working hours:  Monday-Thursday 8am to 4.30pm, Friday 8am to 1.30pm

Contract:   Permanent, Full-time

Our client is a well-established organisation specialising in precision machining. Having grown year on year and supplied products to high profile companies, they now require an additional CNC Setter/Operator to help them to meet the business requirements.
As a CNC Setter/Operator you will operate the CNC machine, manufacturing components to drawing specifications. You will be able to understand drawing specifications and meet the health and safety and procedural guidelines.

Key Authorities & Responsibilities:

• To produce components in minimal possible time and to drawing requirements
• To achieve maximum usage of machine capabilities leaving a finished component requiring minimal manual finishing
• Prepare and maintain CNC machine to required specification and procedural guidelines
• Tool setting & changes – with training
• Operate CNC equipment to procedure and health and safety guidelines
• Drill & tap to drawing specification
• To be flexible in a team oriented environment
• Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities
• Visual inspection of parts to ensure quality standards are met

Preferred Experience:

• CNC machine experience
• Engineering background
• Conversant with engineering drawings
• Milling machine experience
• Experience of aluminium welding would be advantageous

Other Conditions:

• Must possess a positive can do attitude
• Must be physically fit as some lifting of heavy metals will be required
• Must have the ability to work without supervision in a multi-functional team
• Must be prepared to undertake all reasonable requests as determined by the business needs
• Must maintain a safe working environment for other employees and immediately raise Health & Safety concerns to management in compliance with the Health & Safety procedures
• Expected to ensure the working department is clean and presentable at all times
